Trustees vote to continue to pay Pflugerville ISD staff throughout emergency closures

Pflugerville ISD facilities and campuses will remain closed through April 13, according to a post on the district’s website.

The announcement comes after Travis and Williamson counties both enacted shelter-in-place orders aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19.

In its statement, PfISD said it will await guidance from state and local officials before making any decisions about when to reopen campuses.

Other Austin-area school districts have similarly announced closures through at least April 10.

PfISD also announced March 26 on its website that it has updated its policy for the district’s curbside meal pickup program. According to the district’s website, children are no longer required to be present for adults to pick up meals.

The school district is continuing to offer free breakfast and lunch pickup at 10 of its campuses.

PfISD stated it will provide updated information to parents about instructional support at some point March 26. Community Impact Newspaper will update this article as this information becomes available.
