A new gym focused on functional, efficient fitness recently opened in Northwest Austin, located on the corner of MoPac and Parmer Lane.
In a nutshell
Luis Herrera and his wife Mallory opened Industrious, offering 50-minute group fitness workouts led by coaches. The space features 13x13 personal training zones known as the HALO, each set up with equipment like a bench, barbells, rowing machine, treadmill and more.
“Everything you need or that you want for your workout, it’s already here for you,” Luis Herrera said. “Imagine the garage gym concept times 12, run by one person that’s keeping everybody on tempo.”
The gym focuses on offering its Industrious 50 classes throughout the day, although it also has open gym time for members to work out on their own within a HALO. Industrious also has restrooms and showers, and Luis said the gym plans to bring in an InBody scan machine that analyzes muscle mass, body fat percentage and more.
For the rest of September, Industrious is offering $1 for the first month of membership, along with other promotions available for a limited time at sign-up. Industrious began as a small franchise out of Seattle, WA, and has since expanded with other Texas locations in Frisco, Spring and Mont Belvieu.
