It is three years into the Texas Department of Transportation’s five-year, $201 million project to widen Hwy. 146 from Seabrook to Kemah, and Seabrook City Manager Gayle Cook said the construction, while frustrating, will be a fresh start for Seabrook.
The designation allows the district to receive state funds to help with busing students who would encounter hazardous traffic conditions if they walked to school, according to the approved resolution.
DART’s police department consists of 250 licensed police officers, 110 fare enforcement officers and 67 support staff members. New chief of police Charles Cato will oversee the department’s security services and current and future emergency preparedness initiatives.
