Brothers John and Ralph DeVivo have said they were destined to have their own restaurant one day.

“Remember ‘Everybody Loves Raymond?’ Our mom could cook like that,” John DeVivo said. “It wasn’t uncommon to have lots of people in the house. Just like little girls dream about their wedding, we used to dream about our restaurant.”

Both started their culinary careers at Wendy’s, but in 2013, they combined their 25 years of experience to open their own spot, DeVivo Bros. Eatery in Keller.

Thanks to their food truck, Hook and Ladder Pizza Company, John and Ralph were already known around town, and they used that name recognition to build DeVivo Bros. into a popular destination.

“We started this whole thing to cook food in the style we grew up with,” John DeVivo said. “We didn’t do this to get rich. We did this to share our dream.”

DeVivo Bros., which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serves “rustic comfort food.” The décor, designed by John’s wife, Lindsay, delivers on that vibe with raw wood, black tablecloths and wine glasses. There is even a dog-friendly patio.

The menu features appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, specialties like Steak Diane, seafood and a separate lunch menu. DeVivo Bros. also offers gluten-free, to-go and catering menus.

The restaurant also has an in-house bakery where treats are made daily from scratch. The menu varies, with cakes, cookies and muffins available in individual servings. Whole cakes can also be ordered in advance.

The brothers said they aim to provide an atmosphere where everyone feels like family.
