The Texas Department of Transportation continues to operate ahead of schedule on the $42.3 million Loop 337 expansion project, a complete overhaul of 6.7 miles of roadway arcing around the city of New Braunfels from I-35 to Common Street.

TxDOT officials confirmed a number of aspects of the project were ahead of schedule but still predict a possible completion date of spring 2021.

The latest major project milestones include entrance and exit points and a new turnaround at Landa Street, while a new overpass above Hwy. 46 is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

“The project is progressing quite well,” said Hernan Rozemberg, TxDOT public information officer for the San Antonio district. “Construction schedules tend to vary day to day,” Rozemberg said. But we do our best to keep the public informed of important milestones or changes, particularly if they have a direct impact on traffic.”
