Northwest ISD’s board of trustees at its Sept. 9 meeting approved a district improvement plan for its 2019-20 academic year. The plan includes objectives focused on student achievement and district engagement.

NISD goals include raising student reading levels; improving scores on State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, tests; promoting college, career and life readiness; and providing equal education for all students.

NISD is also working to engage its community by providing safer learning environments; being transparent with its budgets and financial forecasts; and continuing to work proactively to accommodate the rapid growth of its student body.

“NISD’s district improvement plan is a much-needed ingredient to our successes for the school year,” NISD Superintendent Ryder Warren said. “It holds us accountable with objectives and imperatives to make sure we are addressing every child every day.”
