UPDATED at 9:28 p.m.: After suspending service before noon, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County began resuming service at 7 p.m., with partial service to park-and-rides and METROLift active. High-occupancy vehicle lanes remained closed, however. -- The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County suspended services across its network as of 11 a.m. Sept. 19 because of heavy rain and flooding. While services are suspended, METRO will transport all passengers already on board to their destinations, and service will resume when it is safe to travel, according to a statement from the agency. METRO is advising customers to observe local forecasts and the agency's social media accounts and subscribe to its service alerts system.
