The city of Bee Cave is looking at around $9.62 million in revenue for fiscal year 2019-20, which is about $720,000 shy of its proposed expenditures of $10.34 million.
Information accompanying a budget workshop during the Aug. 27 meeting included an expectation of about $600,000 in hotel occupancy taxes and an estimated $1.6 million in expenditures in road projects from the road maintenance fund.
Initial budget numbers also show that when coupled with $750,000 from the reserve fund, Bee Cave is projected to have about $10.4 million in total resources for 2019-20, which is slightly higher than projected expenditures for the year.
City documents show sales tax accounts for the lion's share of the city's revenue at 78%, with interest and building fees coming in next at 6.76% and 6.25%, respectively.
Salaries and benefits top out the expenditure budget, totaling $4.38 million, or 46.72% of all of the city's projected spending. That figure is up almost $500,000 from last year's salaries and benefits.
