At least two Sunset Valley City Council seats will change hands this fall, as Council Member Marc Bruner and Mayor Pro Tem Ketan Kharod have decided not to file for placement on the Nov. 5 ballot.
Council Member Rudi Rosengarten will, however, run to maintain her seat on City Council. Three other challengers also filed to run in the November election: Karen Medicus, Wanda Reetz and Alfonso Carmona.
Rosengarten has served as a city council member since 2011 and is currently the council Budget, Finance and Administrative Committee liaison.
Medicus also ran for a council seat last November, and has been a member of the city’s Planning and Environmental Committee since 2015.
Reetz has been a member of the city’s Budget, Finance and Administration Committee since 2017, and served as an alternate on the committee prior to that.
Carmona has served on the Budget, Finance and Administration Committee since 2018 and has been a member of the Public Works Committee since 2017.
Officials in Sunset Valley run for two-year terms.
