Rollingwood officials voted unanimously July 17 to adopt an ordinance ordering a general election for City Council. Specifically, the ordinance orders an election to be held Nov. 5 for three City Council positions, each of which last for two-year terms. The seats up for election consist of council members Wendi Hundley, Buck Shapiro and Amy Pattillo, all of whom are eligible for re-election. Rollingwood is an at-large City Council, meaning if four candidates end up running for the three open seats, the three candidates who earn the highest number of votes will become Rollingwood City Council members. Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. is the deadline to file for candidacy in the Nov. 5 general election.
