Real estate company Hillwood is adding 600 acres to its AllianceTexas development in northeast Fort Worth. Hillwood announced June 25 it purchased the acreage along FM 156 between Fort Worth Alliance Airport and the BNSF Railway Alliance Intermodal Facility. The land is situated in the Alliance Westport section of AllianceTexas. The acreage will add to Hillwood’s portfolio more than 36 million square feet of potential industrial development space in Tarrant and Denton counties. Hillwood could use the acreage to offer logistics, manufacturing and aviation developments near Alliance Airport, according to a press release. “This is one of the most significant land acquisitions in the history of AllianceTexas,” Hillwood Senior Vice President Tony Crème said in the news release. “As Alliance Airport and the BNSF Railway Alliance Intermodal Facility continue to expand and strengthen the foundation for AllianceTexas’ commercial growth, this new property in Alliance Westport will serve as a strategic link between these two pieces of critical logistics infrastructure and offer unparalleled connectivity to our customers.” AllianceTexas is a 26,000-acre master-planned community in northeast Fort Worth. It is home to more than 500 companies. Alliance Westport includes more than 8 million square feet of industrial and aviation developments, including hubs for Amazon Air and UPS. Earlier this month, Hillwood also announced plans to create a center at AllianceTexas that will spur the development of new transportation technology. The AllianceTexas Mobility Zone is already developing technology that will allow shipping containers to move throughout AllianceTexas using self-driving trucks. Another project aims to test the usage of drones.
