Recent storms have caused the water levels of Grapevine Lake to rise 16 feet above normal pool level, with that number expected to increase. On May 22, the Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department closed all Grapevine Lake parks and boat ramps until further notice, including throughout the Memorial Day weekend.

Signs will be posted notifying the public of the closed boat ramps and lake.

"In consideration of the health and safety of the general public, the City of Grapevine urges patrons to not attempt access or enter any Grapevine Lake park until further notice," a parks and recreation news release said. "These areas are mainly inaccessible and considered dangerous."

Parks and recreation officials encouraged boaters to stay near the center of the lake to avoid danger or damage from submerged structures. To view the lake's Hazards Map, click here. This map includes structures that are underwater to better inform boaters.
