1. FM 1960 improvements

The Texas Department of Transportation is working on a series of intersection improvements on FM 1960 between Hwy. 249 and Cutten Road. Improvements include the addition of right- and left-turn lanes on FM 1960. A completion date is still to be determined.

2. Hwy. 290 Project C-1

The Texas Department of Transportation opened an additional westbound Hwy. 290 main lane April 29 within Project C-1, which spans from Mason Road to Mueschke Road in Cypress, providing a total of four westbound lanes. TxDOT also opened an auxiliary lane between the Mueschke entrance ramp and the westbound exit to Fairfield Place Drive, providing an extra lane between ramps for drivers entering or exiting the highway. The westbound main lane entrance ramp from Mueschke also opened to traffic.

3. Grant Road widening

Harris County Precinct 4 is in the study phase on two projects to widen Grant Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete pavement section. The first phase of the project runs from Spring Cypress to Shaw roads, and the second phase runs from Shaw to Telge roads. The project could be sent out for construction bids in 2021.

4. Cypress North Houston Road widening

Construction is underway on an effort to widen a portion of Cypress North Houston Road between Cypress Bend Drive and Greenhouse Road from two lanes to a four-lane boulevard. Cypress North Houston was extended from Barker Cypress Road to Fry Road as a two-lane roadway in 2016.

5. Louetta Road bridge

Harris County Precinct 4 is in the study phase on a project to build a twin bridge for Louetta Road over Little Cypress Creek in Cypress. The project is part of a broader joint project between Harris County precincts 3 and 4 to extend Louetta Road as a two-lane roadway from where it ends at Telge Road over Little Cypress Creek and connect it to E. Louetta Road in the Stablewood Farms subdivision.

6. North Eldridge Parkway improvements

A joint project between Harris County Precinct 4 and TxDOT aims to improve traffic flow along North Eldridge Parkway between Clay and Spring Cypress roads, including with seven new traffic signals and intersection improvements. Part of the project also entails extending the northbound and southbound left turn lanes on North Eldridge at FM 1960. Harris County commissioners gave contractor MBN Enterprises notice to proceed with construction on April 8.
