Preselling begins at LakeHouse residential community in northwest Katy area

A new gated community in the northwest Katy area has begun preselling homes.

Located at the corner of Clay and Pitts roads, LakeHouse began preselling April 6 and held a grand opening April 13, according to a press release and an email from Christine Rombouts, a spokesperson for Trendmaker Homes, the community’s developer.

As of April 18, the community had sold seven homes, Rombouts said. There will be a total of about 350 homes across LakeHouse’s 250 acres, according to the release. Home prices range between $200,000-$600,000, and the first move-ins are expected to occur this summer.

Floor plans include one- and two-story homes between 1,800-5,000 square feet with up to five bedrooms, per the release. The 50- to 90-foot-wide sites have a depth of about 160 feet and have large backyards.

“LakeHouse homes feature open, airy floor plans and plenty of natural light, plus many have water views,” Trendmaker Homes President Joe Mandola said in the release. “The exterior options and premium amenities harken back to the days of backyard campouts, watching the kids play and having a real sense of community.”

LakeHouse community amenities include a recreation center; a 4,000-square-foot, resort-style pool; a 2,800-square-foot activity lawn; a playground; a fitness center; a fishing pier; walking trails; and outdoor event space.

The community’s welcome center is located at 176 LakeHouse Landing Drive, Katy, and Trendmaker has five model homes to tour.

Because Trendmaker Homes developed its own utilities for LakeHouse, homeowners will not pay a municipal utility district tax, Trendmaker Homes marketing liaison Heather Mendez previously told Community Impact Newspaper. According to LakeHouse's website, the annual homeowners association fee is $1,350 along with an annual trash fee of $250.

Community Impact Newspaper reached out for the total investment cost and a sitemap, but neither was immediately provided. According to Waller County and Harris County appraisal districts, Trendmaker Homes owns about 120 acres in the area of LakeHouse. These property tracts' 2018 value was appraised for a total of $2.1 million.

Note: This story was updated to correct Heather Mendez's title as marketing liaison.
