The upcoming projects are funded in part by the city’s $720 million 2016 Mobility Bond, from which $95.1 million was designated for safety and mobility upgrades along major roadways in South Austin. Major construction is expected to begin in 2021.
Projects along William Cannon Drive in the Corridor Program Office’s plan include and expansion to four lanes between Running Water Drive and McKinney Falls Parkway and improved bike lanes, bridges and traffic signals.
The March 30 office hours event will not include a formal presentation, but is intended as an opportunity for concerned Austin residents to ask questions and seek updates on the corridor project’s timeline. The drop-in event will take place at the Pleasant Hill Branch Library at 211 E. William Cannon Drive, Austin, between 1-4 p.m.
