Each January,
Community Impact Newspaper takes a look at news stories we think will deserve readers’ attention in the year ahead.
This year we chose stories about topics that affect our tax bills, educational facilities, the roads we use every day and the places we do business as well as stories that will have an effect on large numbers of residents in Conroe and Montgomery.
For example, readers following local politics will note 2019 marks a significant change at the county level, with a new Montgomery County judge and Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District board—elected for the first time and in the midst of lawsuits.
Among other developments to watch in 2019 are Conroe’s first park and ride, a potential convention center project, along with a number of new municipal utility districts and developer-requested annexations in places with plans for subdivisions.
We hope you enjoy this look at the stories to watch in 2019 and will engage with us on your ideas about newsworthy events and issues in the area.
