Residents in the Dripping Springs area interested in being candidates for office for the city or Dripping Springs ISD can file to run in the May 4 election from Jan. 16-Feb. 15.

Dripping Springs City Council places 1, 3 and 5 will appear on the May ballot. Currently, Taline Manassian serves in Place 1; Mayor Pro Tem Bill Foulds serves in Place 2, and Travis Crow serves in Place 5.

Candidates filing must choose which position they are running for. Candidate applications can be picked up and dropped at City Hall, 511 Mercer St., Dripping Springs, during normal business hours, according to a news release from the city.

In DSISD, the terms for two current trustees, Marisa Grijalva and Jon Thompson, will expire this May. Both positions are at large positions and represent the entire district.

According to a news release by the district, an informational session about becoming a board member will be held Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. in the district board room, located at 510 Mercer St., Dripping Springs.

Early voting for the May 4 election begins April 22 and ends April 30.
