Humble ISD
1. Elementary School No. 29
Construction on Elementary School
No. 29 is scheduled to begin in 2019 with the goal of opening the school in August 2020. Construction of the school is funded by HISD’s $245 million bond, which voters approved in 2008.
2. North Transportation Center
Construction on HISD’s North Transportation Center is scheduled to begin in 2019. Once it opens in 2020 it will be the district’s second transportation center in addition to the South Transportation Center on Wilson Road in Humble. Construction of the $20.1 million center is funded by HISD’s $575 million bond.
3. Kingwood Agriculture Barn
HISD is relocating its Kingwood Agriculture Barn because its existing site is prone to flooding. The barn is scheduled in to open in 2020. Construction of the barn is funded by HISD’s $575 million bond, which voters approved in May 2018.
New Caney ISD
4. Woodridge Forest Middle School expansion
NCISD plans to begin expanding Woodridge Forest Middle School to add 360 seats in spring 2019. Construction is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020. The $12 million expansion is funded by NCISD’s $200 million bond, which voters approved in May 2018.
Higher Education
5. Lone Star College-Kingwood
All classrooms on the campus will reopen for the spring semester after the LSC-Kingwood campus sustained significant flood damage during Hurricane Harvey. The library is still under renovation and will reopen in March. Other minor repairs, such as sidewalks, will continue throughout the semester.
6. New LSC-Kingwood Instrumentation Technology degree
LSC-Kingwood will begin offering an Instrumentation Technology Associate of Applied Science degree at its Process Technology Center in fall 2019.
7. San Jacinto College
The college is scheduled to begin construction on a campus in Generation Park in 2019.
