Here are the latest updates for ongoing transportation projects in Spring, Klein: FM 1960, Champions Drive, Hwy. 249

  1. The Texas Department of Transportation’s $2.3 million Statewide Curb Ramp project on FM 1960, implemented to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, has resumed construction after having been delayed by utility conflicts, TxDOT Public Information Officer Danny Perez said.
    Estimated timeline: October 2016-mid-2019

  2. A $13.3 million joint project between Harris County Precinct 4 and Champions Municipal Utility District  to upgrade Champions Drive is underway to upgrade the two-lane asphalt roadway to a two-lane concrete pavement section with appropriate drainage system, county officials said.
    Estimated timeline: Sept. 24-April 5, 2020

  3. The project to expand Hwy. 249 from six to eight lanes between Chasewood Park Drive and Gregson Road began in September. The project will convert the inside shoulders to a fourth lane in both the north and south directions.
    Estimated timeline: September 2018-January 2019
