The future adventure park to be located at the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park will be known as Texas TreeVentures following approval from the township board of directors Oct. 24.
During the 2017 budget cycle, the township approved $949,000 for amenities at the recreation center, including a dog park, skate park and an adventure course, according to township documents. The course is expected to cost approximately $747,000 to develop.
“This is really our strongest name,” said Mike Sims, executive creative director of Adcetera, a Houston-based advertising and marketing agency and consultant for the project. “We get Texas in there, which we feel is very important. TreeVentures just sounds interesting, it sounds intriguing. There’s some projects that we can just sink our teeth into, and we felt this is one of those. We feel like TreeVentures—there’s a lot to create there.”
In addition to Texas TreeVentures, name options included The Woodlands Forest Adventure, Texas Timbertop Adventures and The Woodlands Towering Pines.
“I was leaning toward Texas for sure because I think that we want to be broader in the marketplace rather than just The Woodlands, and there are several Woodlands in the country,” township Chairman Gordy Bunch said.
Visit The Woodlands President Nick Wolda said the next step for the park will be artwork and logo development to help build the branding for the park, which is expected to be discussed during the township’s November meetings. An opening date for the park has not yet been announced.

Houston-based ad agency Adcetera compiled six proposed names for a new adventure course in The Woodlands:

- Texas Treetop Adventures
- Texas Timbertop Adventures
- The Woodlands Towering Pines
- Texas Treehouse Adventures
- Texas TreeVentures (final choice)
