Updated 2:30 p.m., Nov. 12: The traffic switch scheduled for tonight on southbound FM 2499 to DFW Airport/eastbound SH 114 has been delayed by one day. The lane closures will take place the night of Nov. 13 and all changes will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Upcoming major traffic pattern change scheduled near DFW Airport ramp

A major traffic pattern will change as the southbound FM 2499 off-ramp to eastbound I-635/SH 114 and the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport will completely close Nov. 11, according to a statement from the DFW Connector Project. No lanes will be open, and instead traffic will detour to southbound SH 121 then Main Street in Grapevine from 8 p.m. Nov. 11 to 6 a.m. Nov. 12. Following this closure the southbound FM 2499 off-ramp to DFW Airport will be relocated to a left exit for an extended amount of time. A map has been provided above to illustrate the relocation. The $370 million Texas Department of Transportation project includes rebuilding and widening SH 121 north of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to accommodate new interchanges for SH 121 at I-635 and FM 2499. The Bass Pro Drive bridge in Grapevine will also be widened to six lanes and reconstructed along with the frontage roads. The project is expected to be complete in 2022.
