The Round Rock Police Department is allowing residents to have packages shipped to police headquarters between now and Dec. 22 to avoid package theft, according to RRPD.

The program, called Operation Front Porch, started last year. To have packages shipped to the police department, residents should enter the following shipment information:

[Resident's name]
Round Rock Police Department
2701 North Mays Street
Round Rock, TX 78665

To pick up packages, residents must bring a government-issued identification card and order/shipment proof of receipt. Parents picking up packages addressed to their children must bring proof of guardianship and/or the child's identification. Residents can pick up their packages during the following times:

  • Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • Sat. 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Package pick-up will not be available on Sundays. There is no charge for the service, but RRPD requests that packages shipped to the station weigh less than 50 pounds. The department is also accepting toy donations for Operation Blue Santa, which provides toys to families in need during the holiday season.

In 2017, the first year of Operation Front Porch, RRPD said about 30 packages were shipped to the police department over 22 days and reported package thefts in the city dipped from 13 in December 2016 to four in December 2017.
