From the editor: Looking forward to covering the Lake Travis-Westlake area

I have had a wonderful first month acclimating to my new position as editor of the Lake Travis-Westlake edition of Community Impact Newspaper. I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of my coworkers, including my main team consisting of reporter Sally Grace Holtgrieve, designer Jay Jones, account executive Jacqueline Harris and general manager Phyllis Campos.

Everyone at Community Impact has made me feel right at home, as has each person I’ve met while covering and learning about the Lake Travis-Westlake market. The area is huge, beautiful and friendly. It’s also got plenty of amazing hilltop views.

I look forward to meeting and making connections with as many people as possible. Exploring the area— not only in an official capacity via city council meetings and interviews with city leaders, but also just through driving around and chatting with residents—has been an enjoyable experience.

I am excited to continue working with my team to present the best hyperlocal journalism available to the Lake Travis-Westlake area. Nice to meet you, and here’s to making each new edition better than the last.
