While a few Montgomery entities are holding their last public hearings on tax rates before voting this week, Southern Star Brewing is also releasing a new lager for Hispanic Heritage Month.

1. The last public hearing on the county tax rate is Wednesday
Montgomery County Commissioners Court will meet for a special session Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 9:30 a.m., for the last public hearing on the tax rate. 2. The last public hearing on the city of Montgomery's tax rate is Tuesday

3. Honor Hispanic Heritage with beer
Celebrate Hecho in Conroe, or Made in Conroe, a beer release party at Southern Star Brewing, 3525 N. Frazier St., Conroe. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the brewery is releasing its new Mexican-style Lager. Free. 4-10 p.m. Learn more here.
