Here are two highlights from the Monday evening meeting:
1. Council votes to permit in-city municipal utility districts to issue more than $4.5 million in bonds
The council voted unanimously to allow the Fort Bend County MUD No. 199 and the Harris-Waller Counties MUD No. 2 to issue the bonds. The bond package for the Fort Bend County MUD will raise nearly $1.4 million, while the the Harris-Waller MUD will raise nearly $3.2 million. Funds raised will repay developers for water, sewer and street infrastructure installed on behalf of the MUDs in the Falls at Green Meadows subdivision, City Attorney Arthur Pertile said.
2. Council votes to authorize the mayor to execute an agreement with Greater Harris County 911 and Fort Bend County MUD 151
The agreement will incorporate the fire station that services the Firethorne subdivision into the service area maps for the subdivision, according to city documents. The City Council approved an agreement with Fort Bend County MUD 151 for Katy Fire Department staff to man that fire station at their last regular meeting on April 23.
