Since opening Maine-ly Sandwiches in The Woodlands in late March, owner Buddy Charity said the eatery’s signature lobster rolls have already become a popular menu item among customers.

The specialty $14 half-lobster roll features fresh-steamed lobster served with mayonnaise on a butter-toasted roll and is part of the foundation of the New England-inspired menu.

“I’m from Maine,” Charity said. “Our food is based on New England, and there is nothing like this in The Woodlands or the surrounding area.”

Charity said the family-owned eatery has enjoyed a good response from the community, and word-of-mouth about the food has been traveling fast. Charity said the Houston-based business hopes to open another location in the Katy or Sugar Land areas.

Charity said other unique menu items at The Woodlands location include New England-style fried clams and Italian deli sandwiches.

Children’s menu items, like macaroni and cheese, are also available.
