The Texas Department of Transportation and Houston TranStar database have announced multiple lane closures scheduled this week in Tomball and Magnolia, most notably an overnight closure of southbound Hwy. 249 lanes in Tomball as traffic shifts to new frontage lanes.

  1. Southbound main lanes of Hwy. 249 as well as the southbound frontage road between Vallie Street and the Hwy. 249 toll road in Tomball are closed overnight 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 2. Five alternate lanes are available. Lanes are closed overnight as the Harris County Toll Road Authority shifts traffic to the newly constructed southbound frontage road.   2. North Grove Parkway between Hufsmith Conroe Road and FM 2978 is closed continuously until 5 p.m. Friday, May 4. As eastbound and westbound lanes are closed in this section, traffic to North Grove Subdivision can access the parkway via Hufsmith Conroe Road.

  3. Northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy. 249 between the Harris-Montgomery county line and FM 149 are closed nightly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Thursday, May 3. Two alternate lanes are available to drivers.

  4. One outside lane southbound on Hwy. 249 from Spring Creek to Brown Road is closed daily 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, May 4.
