Several meetings that Sugar Land and Missouri City residents should be aware of take place this week, April 30-May 6.

1) Missouri City City Council hosts a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City. Agenda items include a presentation of the preliminary tax rolls and an overview of the fiscal year 2018-19 budget process; discussion of the proposed FY 2018-19 Capital Improvement Program; discussion of the request to host a farmers market event at 2700 Olympia Parkway; and discussion of the city's community event participation policy. 2) U.S. Rep. Pete Olson, R-Sugar Land, will discuss Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. legislative predictions for 2018, updates on tax reform and updates on Hurricane Harvey recovery during an event sponsored by Wharton County Junior College at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, located at 445 Commerce Green Blvd., Sugar Land.

3) Fort Bend County Commissioners Court will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday at 401 Jackson St., Richmond. A public hearing will be held during the meeting regarding a revised traffic control plan for Fort Bend ISD’s Mission Bend Elementary School. The court will also meet Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. for budget workshops. To view all agendas, click here.

4) Sugar Land City Council meets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at 2700 Town Center Blvd., Sugar Land. A resolution will be considered on an advanced funding agreement with the state of Texas through the Texas Department of Transportation in regard to the installation of ornamental signal poles for the Hwy. 6 widening project. 5) Sugar Land’s Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2700 Town Center Blvd., Sugar Land, where the Land Use Advisory Committee will review and discuss possible updates to the land use plan.

6) Election day is Saturday, and Sugar Land Mayor and City Council at large position 2 are on the ballot. Early voting ends Tuesday, and residents may vote at one of these locations. Here’s where to vote on election day.
