Avoid these 7 lane closures along I-35 in Round Rock this week, Feb. 26-March 2

Before hitting the road, learn more about these seven scheduled closures around I-35 planned by the Texas Department of Transportation for this week:

  1. The inside lane of the northbound I-35 access road will be closed between Mays Crossing and McNeil Road from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday night.

  2. Northbound I-35 will be reduced to one lane between RM 620 and Westinghouse Road from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday night. Ramp closures should also be anticipated.

  3. Southbound I-35 will be reduced to one lane between RM 1431 and Chisholm Trail Road from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday night.

  4. There will be alternating closures on the southbound I-35 access road across FM 3406/Old Settlers Boulevard from 8 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday.

  5. The southbound exit for FM 3406, Exit 254, will be closed until further notice. TxDOT recommends drivers use Exit 256 as a detour.

  6. McNeil Road will be closed under I-35 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. through Thursday night. The closure includes the turnarounds and Bellview Avenue. TxDOT recommends drivers use RM 620 and Hesters Crossing Road as detours.

  7. There will be alternating closures on FM 3406/Old Settlers Boulevard at I-35 from 8 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday.

  8. Westbound drivers on FM 3406/Old Settlers Boulevard should use the new turnaround bridge over I-35 until further notice. TxDOT recommends eastbound drivers detour south to the turnaround at US 79/Sam Bass Road.
