Several Missouri City City Council meetings and two mental health workshops hosted by Fort Bend ISD take place this week.

Missouri City City Council will hold three special meetings this week. During the first
meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City, Council will discuss the city's capital improvements program and other financial matters related to the budget. Two meetings will also be held at 5:30 p.m.
Friday and at 8 a.m.
Saturday at the Emergency Operations Training Room, 3845 Cartwright Road, Missouri City. Council will discuss priorities, plans, operations, policies and future projects during both weekend meetings.

FBISD hosts two of three
mental health workshops this week Tuesday and Thursday. The workshops, which are open to all FBISD parents and teachers, focus on student mental health and suicide prevention.

Candidate filings for Sugar Land City Council and the Fort Bend ISD board of trustees began Jan. 17. So far, incumbent Joe Zimmerman and Diana Miller have filed to run for Sugar Land mayor. Incumbents Grayle James and Addie Heyliger have filed for re-election for FBISD board of trustees Position 2 and Position 6, respectively.
