Carroll ISD spokesperson Julie Thannum said residents can check for updates on potential opening delays or school cancellations on the district website’s homepage, as well as its Facebook and Twitter pages. She said the district tweets decisions first, then uses its Blackboard ConnectED emergency telephone calling system to reach all households, including staff.
According to the GCISD website, if schools are to be closed for an entire day, an announcement will be made by 6:30 a.m. that day. Notices of schools closing are sent directly to parents and employees by phone, email and text. In addition, information is posted on the district and school websites and posted on the district's Facebook and Twitter pages.
A tweet from the city of Grapevine said that public works crews are applying a sand/salt mixture to bridges and overpasses in anticipation of precipitation falling. Colleyville officials said the city has done the same.
Southlake spokesperson Vicky Schiber said an assessment of road conditions are made early in the morning. If city offices need to be closed, information is then posted on the city's website, social media and My Southlake News.
