Voters approved a $275 million bond referendum Nov. 7 to provide funding for construction of two new Tomball ISD schools in the southern portion of the district, a districtwide football stadium, campus facility improvements, additional technology and school buses, and land acquisition. The new school projects include construction of an elementary school campus and a junior high school campus to relieve Wildwood Elementary School and Willow Wood Junior High School—both located in the Northpointe area—respectively.

According to district information, bond projects address anticipated enrollment growth of more than 4,500 students by the 2021-22 school year. TISD’s enrollment for fall 2017 totaled 15,934 students—an increase from 14,700 students in 2016-17—according to district officials.
What’s next
Construction is expected to begin this year on several projects included in the bond package, although the district has not yet released a timeline for when specific projects may begin. TISD officials project student enrollment nearing 17,000 students in the 2018-19 school year, according to district information.
