The Development Corporation of Richmond met for the first time this year Jan. 9 at the City Hall Annex and received a report from the newly appointed executive director Cameron Goodman. It has been over a year since the DCR has had an executive director, according to city officials. Goodman announced at the start of the meeting that the Texas Department of Transportation awarded the city with a $70,000 refund regarding construction costs of the Hwy. 90A and FM 359 project. The board went on to reelect the previous officers for the new year; Mayor Evalyn Moore was reelected president, Joe Bonham vice president, Verge Greenwood secretary and Barry Beard treasurer. Goodman's report to the board included an update on the DCR website, which Goodman promised would go live Feb. 20. He requested several purchases that include demographic tools and property listing tools for the website. Goodman said a park industry study is one of his first priorities for his first six months on the job. No further action was taken on the report. The board will meet again Feb. 13 at the City Hall Annex.
