School back in session
Fort Bend ISD students are back in school as of Monday Jan. 8 after the holiday break, according to the district. Lamar Consolidated ISD students return Tuesday, Jan. 9, according to the district.
Development Corporation of Richmond to meet
The Development Corporation of Richmond will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the City Hall Annex. This is the DCR’s first meeting since appointing
Cameron Goodman the new director. Items on the
agenda include appointing a new president, vice president, secretary and treasurer and discussing updating the DCR website.
Fort Bend County Commissioners Court meeting
Fort Bend County commissioners will meet for a regularly scheduled meeting 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the courthouse in downtown Richmond. Items on the
agenda include extending an agreement between Access Health and Fort Bend county regarding extending clinical hours at the Richmond clinic, taking action to create
Fort Bend County Reinvestment Zone No. 19, located in Precinct 1, that would serve the Needville area and approving an agreement to participate in a Federal Emergency Management Agency Pilot Program.
New H-E-B to open off FM 762 Jan. 24
An opening date for the new H-E-B grocery store off FM 762 in Richmond is set for Wednesday, Jan. 24, according to H-E-B representatives. The opening comes after weeks of Richmond area residents waiting once the grocery store chain delayed the original Dec. 6 date.
Hwy. 90 onto FM 359 left turn lane to remain closed through Jan. 12.
A left turn lane from Hwy. 90 onto FM 359 in Richmond will be closed daily from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through Friday, Jan. 12, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. Drivers traveling eastbound down Hwy. 90 are directed to detour to Harlem Road and turn back onto FM 359. The closure is in preparation to install bridge beams 9 p.m.-5 a.m. Jan. 26-29, according to the City of Richmond.
Houston Rodeo 2018 Performers
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
officially announced the 18 performers for the 2018 season last week. Performers in the 2018 lineup include Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band and Brad Paisley.
Tickets go on sale Jan. 11.
