Pflugerville residents hoping to get in shape for 2018 are getting some extra motivation from the city.
The Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the Pforty Mile Trail Challenge from Jan. 1-March 24, encouraging people to walk, bike or run any of Pflugerville's more than 40 miles of trails. The first 40 people to complete the challenge will receive a Pflugerville sports bag and water bottle.
Participants can walk, bike or run any or all trails in the city for a total distance of at least 40 miles. A map of the city's trails can be found
here.
Any method can be used to log the miles, but the city recommends creating an account at
MapMyRun.com. Once the challenge is completed, participants can collect their prizes at the recreation center located at 400 Immanuel Road.
The Pforty Mile Challenge was first introduced in July.
