After the holidays residents may look to their cities to help them dispose of Christmas trees or take them to another location. Sugar Land Waste collection company Republic Services will collect Christmas trees from all city residents except for those living in the community of Greatwood. Residents may put out trees curbside on their weekly green waste collection days to be recycled for mulch or compost. The city will not collect solid waste on New Year’s Day, and residents will receive service the following day. Greatwood Families may place their Christmas trees on the curb for disposal on their regular trash collection days, and waste collection company Best Trash will pick them up. There will be no trash or recycle collection on New Year’s Day. Trash service will resume regularly Jan. 4. Citizens may find more information about Best Trash’s holiday schedule here. Missouri City Residents may set out their holiday trees curbside for pick up on their bulk waste collection days. Living Earth Soil products company Living Earth will allow citizens to drop off Christmas trees for disposal at their Missouri City location at 1503 Industrial Drive. The company does not accept ornaments or tree stands.
