Many local entities will be closed in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Comal County All Comal County offices will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 2. The Moe Schwab Recycling Center and regional recycling drop-off locations will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Jan. 1-2. County parks will be open throughout the holiday weekends. City of New Braunfels On Dec. 25, there will be no residential or commercial collection by the city for garbage, recycling or green waste. Residents who normally receive a Monday collection will be serviced on Dec. 26, and those with a regular Tuesday collection will shift to Dec. 27, and so on. The same pattern will remain in effect for the following week in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday. The normal collection schedule will resume on the week of Jan. 8. The City Recycle Center will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The administrative office for the Parks and Recreation Department will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. The Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Fischer Park Nature Center will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1. New Braunfels City Hall and Municipal Building on S. Castell Avenue will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. The main library will be closed on Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1. It will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 27-28. The Westside Community Center and library branch will be closed on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. On Dec. 27, it will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. instead of its normal hours. The Planning and Community Development Department at City Hall will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 22. New Braunfels Utilities The offices of New Braunfels Utilities will be closed on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. Customers are asked to report service issues or outages by calling the 24-7 control center at 830-629-4628. New Braunfels ISD Students in New Braunfels ISD have winter break from Dec. 25-Jan. 5, and school begins again on Jan. 8. Comal ISD Comal ISD’s winter break begins Dec. 21, and school resumes Jan. 4.
