The downtown location of the Austin Municipal Court closed Wednesday for "emergency building maintenance" and will reopen Friday, Dec. 1 for normal business hours, according to a press release sent out by the city's communications office.
Per the press release, the Jaime Padron North Substation at 12425 Lamplight Village Ave., and the South Substation of the Municipal Court at 5700 Manchaca Road, will both remain open, as well as the Downtown Austin Community Court at 719 E. Sixth St.
All appearances and dockets at the Downtown Municipal Court through Thursday will be rescheduled. Additionally, any fines, fees, or penalties due during that time will be extended until Friday.
During the closure, the ability to pay fines by phone will be unavailable. However, city officials said fines can be paid online.
