Plano Parkway-Preston Road intersection

Crews plan to begin construction in December on a major project to realign the eastbound lanes of Plano Parkway where it meets Preston Road. The existing eastbound lanes are separated from the westbound lanes by a large median; the new lanes will run closer to their eastbound counterparts, allowing for more roadway between the intersection and President George Bush Turnpike. Ohio Drive repairs

Crews repairing Ohio Drive’s southbound lanes have moved to a stretch of road from Park Boulevard to Plano Parkway. All southbound lanes along this stretch will be closed during construction. Some northbound lanes north of where Ohio Drive crosses Legacy Drive remain unfinished, and additional funding would be needed to repair them. Much of the work on the northbound lanes has been completed for the project, which was intended to span from the northern boundary of the city to its southern edge. Timeline: February 2017-January 2018 Cost: $3.8 million Funding source: city of Plano

Parker Road repairs

After some delays, construction crews planned to switch to the westbound lanes as they work to improve Parker Road stretching from Independence Parkway to Roundrock Trail. Drivers in the area can expect one lane to close daily with an additional lane closed weekdays and some Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complete project will run along Parker Road from Coit to Custer roads. Timeline: summer 2016-January 2018 (total project) Cost: $2.2 million Funding source: city of Plano

Dallas North Tollway expansion

Daily and nightly lane closures are expected to continue as the Dallas North Tollway widening project continues stretching from SH 121 to the PGBT. Most construction will allow for regular traffic flow, although crew work occasionally requires larger shutdowns, including work at Tennyson Parkway and Legacy Drive that has shut down entire stretches of the tollway on weekends in recent months.
