As part of the voter-approved 2016 Mobility Bond Program, the city of Austin is planning improvements to Manchaca Road between South Lamar Boulevard and FM 1626. Though specific improvements have not been identified, the plan will enhance mobility, connectivity and safety for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists and motorists, according to the city's website. Funding from the mobility bond will be used to create a preliminary engineering report for the project. A funding source for design and construction has not yet been identified. The transportation department is seeking feedback from the community on their thoughts surrounding Manchaca Road mobility and what types of improvements they would like to see. The first round of public engagement will begin this winter and will continue through spring 2018. Here are the upcoming opportunities to provide input; residents are welcomed to drop in at any time during the event:
  • Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Sprouts Farmers Market, 6920 Manchaca Road, Austin, 3-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Crockett High School, 5601 Manchaca Road, Austin, 5-8 p.m.
