Two registered voters cast votes to confirm the creation of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 551 on Tuesday night. The two voters also approved the authorization of up to $137.5 million in bonds to fund infrastructure for MUD 551 and approve a tax rate up to $1.50 per $100 of assessed property value. In addition, five directors were all elected to positions on the MUD board of directors. Each received two votes: William Spence Bridges, Nathan Cook, Eric Djuvik, Charlie Duke and Brian W. Seiler. MUD 551 will serve Retreat at Champions, a subdivision being constructed by developer Centex Homes, said Macey Kessler, a communications specialist from Pulte Group, the homebuilder for the project. The 45-acre subdivision is at Stuebner Airline Road near Cashel Glen Drive and Wunderlich Road and will consist of 245 homes. The properties will be available for sale starting this year. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
