It's hard to believe it has been more than two months since Hurricane Harvey hit the Greater Houston area in late August. While seasons may change and life has returned to a more routine state of life for many, for those of you who were affected by Harvey, the recovery process is still ongoing.
Although there was a large outpouring of support and donations in the days and weeks following the storm, there are still ways to help as we head into the fall. For example, many food banks in the Greater Houston area are still taking donations to assist affected residents and are in need of nonperishable goods, cleaning supplies and volunteers.
Additionally, our annual Volunteer Guide beginning on Page 22 provides ample opportunities for residents of Sugar Land and Missouri City to give back in a variety of ways. From becoming a mentor at a local school to driving for Meals on Wheels, there is a way for everyone to give back to the local community this holiday season.
