Drivers traveling both ways on MoPac should expect delays Wednesday night starting at 8 p.m. According to a recent press release, after 8 p.m. two southbound lanes will be closed from Parmer Lane to Duval Road and from Anderson Lane to the Lake Austin Boulevard exit. The Westover Road on-ramp, Windsor Road off-ramp and 35th Street off-ramp will also be closed. The release also stated after midnight, southbound MoPac will be closed at the Lake Austin Boulevard exit and the Winsted Lane on-ramp will be closed with all traffic diverted to the Lake Austin Boulevard on-ramp. On northbound MoPac two lanes will be closed after 9 p.m. from Westover Road to FM 2222. The Westover Road on- and off-ramps, the 45th Street on- and off-ramps and the FM 2222 off-ramp will also be closed. The MoPac Improvement Project is adding one express lane in each direction to an 11-mile stretch of the expressway between Parmer Lane and the Colorado River. Construction is expected to be complete by Oct. 28 or Nov. 4. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is expected to make a decision on the official opening date around noon Thursday.
