Pflugerville City Engineer Amy Giannini presented a plan to spend an estimated $1 million as part of the city's street and pavement program for fiscal year 2018 at the city council meeting Tuesday evening. Giannini said the proposed plan will repair cracks on Railroad Avenue between East Wilbarger Street and Pfennig Lane. Approximately $26 million has been spent on pavement repairs as part of the plan since fiscal year 2012. Giannini said the plan requires a total of $3.9 million in repairs over the next three years, leaving $2.9 million for 2019 and 2020. Those projects would cover 73 street segments throughout the city in need of repair. The projects in the plan will provide repairs and preventative maintenance, but city officials anticipate further projects, such as widening streets, as Pflugerville continues to grow.
