Education fund's fall gala nets nearly $30K for Hutto ISD, organizer says

The Hutto Education Foundation's Dare to Dream gala drew close to 300 guests Sept. 23.

The Hutto Education Foundation raised close to $30,000 at its annual Dare to Dream fundraising gala Sept. 23.

The gala, which was held at the Gin at the Co-Op in Hutto, drew close to 200 attendees, according to Kristen Smith, director of the Hutto Education Foundation. The Hutto Education Foundation is a nonprofit education organization created to provide additional funding to Hutto ISD.

Parents, educators, HISD staff and other supporters raised $28,416 in net funds at the gala. The money raised by the Hutto Education Foundation is used to award grants to education projects throughout Hutto ISD, as well as funding other district needs.

Last year, the Hutto Education Foundation awarded 36 grants totaling more than $125,000 in grants to fund projects at HISD schools.
