First-responder agencies from across Central Texas will unite for the eighth annual Public Safety Day on Oct. 28, according to a news release from the city of Lakeway.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Lake Travis Elementary School, 15303 Kollmeyer Drive, Lakeway.
Central Texas agencies will bring a variety of emergency response equipment for display, including helicopters, police cars, motorcycles, ambulances, fire trucks, rescue boats, all-terrain vehicles, K-9s, horses and wildfire mitigation gear.
Public Safety Day was founded in 2009 to shine the spotlight on Central Texas first responders and their mission with a fun, educational event for the Lake Travis community, according to the city's release.
The event gives the public a chance to interact with first responders outside of emergency situations to learn more about what the responders do and the tools and resources they use, according to the city. More information is available
