Within the next three weeks, Harris County Precinct 4 officials expect to have completed the first pass of debris removal in the Cy-Fair area following Hurricane Harvey. Officials will then make two more passes to pick up additional debris.
Elizabeth Stinsman, a representative from the Precinct 4 Community Assistance Department, said the debris pickup within Harris County's unincorporated subdivisions should begin soon, although a storm or more rain could delay the process.
"We're expected to have made a pass through the unincorporated areas within the next two and a half weeks," she said. "Every day we're picking up an equivalent of the debris from the Tax Day floods. It's a lot of debris."
Stinsman said anyone who needs to drop off debris immediately can take it to the drop-off point at 13928 Humble Road, Tomball. The homeowner must accompany their waste in order to drop it off. According to Stinsman, more than 11,000 homes flooded in Precinct 4 due to Hurricane Harvey.
