Additional lane closure information was released Friday. Additional lanes closures along Hwy. 249 are scheduled during the weekend and through Monday, Sept. 25, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

  • One northbound lane between Zion and Brown roads in Tomball will close on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 5 a.m.-7 p.m.

  • One northbound frontage lane will close between FM 2920 and Brown Road in Tomball on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

  • Two northbound lanes will close between Zion and Brown roads in Tomball. The lanes will close nightly from 7 p.m.-5 a.m.. Saturday, Sept. 23, to Monday, Sept. 25.

  • One southbound lane will close between Zion to Brown roads in Tomball on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 5 a.m.-3 p.m.

  • Two northbound lanes between Zion and Brown roads in Tomball will close nightly from Saturday, Sept. 23, to Monday, Sept. 25, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Drivers should expect delays along Hwy. 249 in Tomball this weekend as crews continue work on the Tomball Tollway extension, according to the Harris County Toll Road Authority.

The traffic pattern between Brown and Zion roads will change beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. Temporary lanes will be created for drivers through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25. Alternate lane closures will occur as crews work to stripe the roadway, install signs and put up concrete barriers, officials said.

Upon reopening Monday, Hwy. 249 will feature three lanes in each direction and a center turn lane. However, the roadway will not include shoulder areas at that time, according to HCTRA.

Additional closures along Hwy. 249 are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

  • One eastbound lane of Brown Road at Hwy. 249 is closed 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.

  • The northbound frontage road between FM 2920 and Brown Road is closed daily 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, to Friday, Sept. 22. One alternate lane is available.

  • The northbound U-turn lane at FM 2920 is closed daily 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, to Friday, Sept. 22.
