Beltway 8 and other lane closures to know in Houston this weekend, Sept. 8-10

According to the Houston Tran Star database, the Texas Department of Transportation and Harris County Toll Road Authority have planned several road closures throughout the Greater Houston area this weekend. Here are a few closures set for major thoroughfares.

I-45

  • Southbound lanes between FM 518 and FM 517 are closed 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11. Two alternate lanes are available. As exit and entrance ramps are closed between Hwy. 96 and FM 517, drivers are encouraged to detour to the frontage road and continue to the next available entrance ramp.

  • Northbound and southbound lanes of I-45 and the frontage road between 610 Loop South and Broad Street are closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Sunday, Dec. 31. One alternate lane is available.

  • Northbound and southbound lanes of I-45 and the frontage road between Nasa Road and Hwy. 96 are closed nightly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Sunday, Dec. 31. One alternate lane is available.


Loop 610 South

  • The eastbound connector ramp to I-45 is closed until 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31.

  • Eastbound and westbound lanes from FM 521 to Scott Street are closed nightly 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. through Sunday, Sept. 10. Drivers can detour via Hwy. 288.


Beltway 8 North

  • The eastbound exit ramp to John F. Kennedy Boulevard is closed until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2. Drivers can detour to the next exit ramp.

  • The westbound exit ramp to Aldine Westfield Road is closed until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11. Drivers can detour to the Hardy Toll Road and Beltway 8 frontage road before making a U-turn and continuing onto Beltway 8 eastbound to Aldine Westfield Road.

  • The U-turn lane of the westbound frontage road at Aldine Westfield Road is closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 9.

  • One inside lane of the eastbound entrance ramp from the Hardy Toll Road is closed until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2.


South Sam Houston Tollway

  • The eastbound entrance ramp at Hwy. 35 is closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7.

  • One eastbound lane from Hwy. 35 to Pearland Parkway are closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, to noon on Saturday, Sept. 9.

  • Eastbound and westbound lanes between Wayside Drive and the southeast toll plaza are closed nightly 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Sunday, Sept. 10.


I-10

  • One inside lane of the westbound connector ramp to Loop 610 West northbound is closed until 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1.


Hwy. 288

  • One inside lane of the northbound connector ramp to Sam Houston Tollway is closed nightly 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. through Saturday, Sept. 9.
