Lake Travis ISD and Eanes ISD classes will be on a two-hour delayed start tomorrow due to inclement weather, both districts announced late this afternoon.

EISD

"The weather related to Hurricane Harvey is expected to continue into the week, but we are most concerned with parents and buses navigating high water and flooded roads tomorrow morning before daylight," EISD's website stated. "In addition, we have several staff coming from areas east and south that are much more affected than the Westlake area, and their safety is a significant reason for the delay as well." The website stated a few of the campuses incurred some minor flooding, but staff have cleaned and repaired the problem areas. Bus pickup and school start times will be exactly two hours later than the normal start time, and the Child Development Centers at Barton Creek, Cedar Creek and Valley View elementary schools will start at 9 a.m. Staff should report two hours later than their normal start time. Aug. 28, EISD school start times: Barton Creek Elementary - 9:40 a.m. Bridge Point Elementary - 9:40 a.m. Cedar Creek Elementary - 9:40 a.m. Eanes Elementary - 9:35 a.m. Forest Trail Elementary - 10:20 a.m. Valley View Elementary - 9:40 a.m. Hill Country Middle School - 10:35 a.m. West Ridge Middle School - 10:35 a.m. Westlake High School - 10:50 a.m. Child Development Centers - 9 a.m. LTISD All LTISD buses will also be on a two-hour delay, but student dismissal and bus runs will be according to regular schedules. The LTISD after-school Extended Care program will operate according to normal hours, with 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. pickup times. "Once classes begin, a ‘grab and go’ breakfast will be available for students at each campus and lunch will be served under modified schedules according to individual campus needs,” a news release from LTISD stated. “Should inclement weather result in additional changes to the instructional day, information will be communicated in accordance with the District’s Bad Weather Procedures." Athletics and other district-sponsored events scheduled before and after school hours may also be affected by the two-hour delayed start, the release cautioned.  Parents are urged to confirm events in question with the respective coaches and sponsors and encouraged to visit campus websites for possible changes related to class/bell schedules and other campus-specific announcements.
